FLAVIEN SOYER
After having studied the mandolin at CDR in Argenteuil, Flavien Soyer obtained hisDNSPM (performing licence and musicology degree at Sorbonne University) in 2001,
at the Pôle Supérieur d’enseignement artistique of Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt inFlorentino Calvo’s class until his DE degree in 2012In 2007, he received CMF’s prize for excellence, together with the jury’s unanimouscongratulations. He also trained in guitar, and obtained his diploma in 2017 ,alongside Alberto Vingiano and François Laurent.In 2010, he took direction of Annecy Edstudiantina, a plectrum orchestra which he hasbeen heartfeltly developing and that mostly focuses on the formation of new students.He is named Professor of mandolin and guitar at Annecy CCR in 2013, and then also atSartrouville’s Conservatory.Other than his pedagogical activity, he regularly performs in solo concerts andaccompanied by chamber music bands both in France and abroad: with Argenteuil-based Quatuor de l’Estudiantina, with Florentino Calvo,
Duo Vitalis with pianist DanielGardiole, the Ensemble MG21 (with which he records multiple albums under thedirection of Florentino Calvo), Ensemble Il Forum Musicale (In Luxembourg with Mari-FePavon and Juan Carlos Munoz).He is regularly invited to play with renowned orchestras, such as the one of thel’Opéra de Paris, Lyon Opera, Paris Orchestra, Massy Opera, Paris’ OrchestralEnsemble, the National Orchestra of France, Philarmonic Orchestra of Radio France,National Orchestra of the Île-de-France, Prométhée Orchestra.These days, his main body of work is dedicated to Musica Popolare , seeing his duowith 7-chord guitarist José Ferreira (Brazil), Trio Piamancello (Argentina-Brazil), singerFéloche (Chanson Française) or different participations in groups playing Brazilianmusic. These formations show his musical eclecticism, and his willingness of puttingforward the modernity of his instrument, the mandolin.
